WISCONSIN (WQOW) – Wisconsinites have a reason to cheer for both teams in the World Series this year. There are players on each team with ties to the Badger State and Eau Claire.

Alex Call is a right fielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He grew up in River Falls. Call was traded to the Dodgers by the Washington Nationals in July.

Daulton Varsho is a center fielder for the Toronto Blue Jays. He grew up in Marshfield and is a UW-Milwaukee graduate.

There is an Eau Claire connection for both major leaguers as well. Both Varsho and Call once played for the Eau Claire Express. The Eau Claire Express offered them a congratulations on social media.

Another fun fact: Alex Call is the brother of former WQOW Anchor Bridget Curran.

Congratulations and good luck to both!
