Heidi Klum‘s daughter is celebrating another trip around the sun.
The proud mom and supermodel, 52, shared a tribute on Instagram for Lou to commemorate her 16th birthday. In the post, Klum included several throwback photos and videos of her daughter and her family throughout the years.
“Lou my beautiful sunshine ❤️ Happy 16 th Birthday 🎁🥳🎈🌺🎂” she posted on Thursday, Oct. 9. “I love you with my whole heart ❤️”
In addition to Lou, Klum is a mother to Johan, 18, Henry, 20, and Leni, 21. She shares her children with ex-husband Seal. The children also spend time with Klum’s current husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, who considers himself an “extra dad” to the four kids.
In a 2021 interview with PEOPLE, Klum shared that her younger daughter is the only one of her kids who seems to have inherited her love of Halloween. The America’s Got Talent judge is known for her huge Halloween parties and epic costumes, and she was hoping to pass the tradition on to her kids. However, most of her kids “couldn’t care less” about the holiday.
“I was hoping that I would pass this on even to my kids, but out of four, there’s only one that really is going for it and that’s Lou,” Klum said, noting that Lou dressed up as an anime character that year with “full on makeup, the hair, all the accessories.”
The family of six recently stepped out together and posed for photos at a rare event in her home country of Germany. They each wore outfits inspired by traditional Bavarian attire for an event held in Munich on Thursday, Sept. 18. Klum hosted an Oktoberfest-inspired party at Hofbräuhaus alongside Alessandra Ambrosio, WWD reported.
Klum wore a red and white dirndl — a traditional dress featuring a lace-up bodice and wide apron skirt. She accessorized the look with a red flower crown and a necklace that read “Tom” in honor of Kaulitz, 36.
Meanwhile, the men in the family sported lederhosen with vests and button-up shirts.

The doting mom also opened up about motherhood to PEOPLE in an exclusive interview in July.
“When they’re young, you’re worried they’re going to jump in the pool or stick their finger in a socket,” she said.
“Then they’re driving. Then it’s sex, drugs and rock and roll. You hope the seed you planted in them grows,” Klum continued. “That they’re good people. That they’re healthy. But you always worry. And I know I’ll still be worrying when I’m 80.”
